VIDEO: Ice Jam Release On Roaring Fork River Prompts Alert In Pitkin County
PITKIN COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) -- The Basalt Police Department issued an alert Wednesday afternoon about the release of an ice jam on the Roaring Fork River. They shared video of the release (see in player above.)
"An ice jam has released on the Roaring Fork River," the alert stated. "Move away from the river and seek high ground from Snowmass Canyon to Carbondale."
Basalt Police alerted six anglers to get out of the river prior to the ice jam sweeping through, according to the Aspen Times.
