Cottonwood Pass Closed As Crews Battle Wildfire Near Gypsum
GYPSUM, Colo. (CBS4)- Firefighters are working to put out a wildfire burning near Gypsum. The fire is about 3/4 acre in size, with some torching.
Cottonwood Pass is closed from both Gypsum and El Jebel due to the fire. Drivers are urged to avoid the area.
A small plume of dark smoke is visible from Gypsum, but fire crews say the majority of the smoke has been carried to the area from fires in Arizona and New Mexico. Winds in the area are 10-15 mph. Air resources are en route.
