PHOTOS: Rare Piebald Squirrel Spotted West Of Denver
(CBS4) - Colorado Parks and Wildlife shared photos of a rare local resident on Wednesday.
"Check this out! An extremely rare sighting of a piebald squirrel," CPW officials tweeted.
The unusual coloring is a genetic mutation that causes varying amounts of white hair.
"Some can be almost pure white while others carry just patches of white," officials stated.
CPW said Jerry Baines spotted the unique little critter west of Denver.
