CPW Rehabilitates Emaciated Bear & Releases It Back Into The Wild

RIO GRANDE COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) - Colorado Parks and Wildlife released a bear back into the wild after she was found extremely emaciated in January. The cub weighed just 13 pounds and had injuries to its paws when wildlife officers rescued it north of Durango.

The bear was treated at the Frisco Creek Rehabilitation Facility in Del Norte where she gained 42 pounds. The bear's paw injuries also healed.

On Wednesday, the bear scampered back into the wild weighing a healthy 55 pounds.
