Prescribed Burn Planned For San Juan National Forest To Reduce Threat Of Wildfires
CORTEZ, Colo. (CBS4)- The Bureau of Land Management is working to minimize the threat of large wildfires by starting fires. A controlled burn is planned for 452 acres of the West Dolores Rim in the San Juan National Forest.
The goal is to reintroduce fire for vegetative health and reduce hazardous ground fuels.
Smoke will be visible in that area of Southwestern Colorado but no road closures are expected.
