SAGUACHE, Colo. (CBS4) — Authorities in southern Colorado are searching for a 45-year-old man in connection with a murder in the town of Saguache early Sunday morning and they say he may be hitchhiking. He's suspected in the killing of a Salida man in his 50s on the 800 block of Gunnison Avenue in Saguache, an agricultural town of about 500 people that's surrounded by mountains in the San Luis Valley.

Deputies with the Saguache County Sheriff's office were called to a residence in the town just before 4:30 a.m. Sunday for a report of an injured man. They encountered the victim, who later died from his injuries, the bureau said.

The victim's name was withheld pending notification of his relatives.

Garcia was described as being between 5-foot-5 and 5-foot-8 and weighing about 140 pounds. He has a mustache and a goatee and long black hair. Police say they aren't sure if he has a vehicle or not and that there's a possibility he might be hitchhiking.

Anyone who knows where Garcia might be asked to call the Saguache County Sheriff's Office at (719) 655-2525. They say he was last seen wearing a black hoodie, black beanie, blue jeans and black shoes.
