AURORA, Colo. (CBS4) — Aurora police say they have located the parents of a young boy who was found alone on Friday morning.

“Do you know this child?” Aurora police tweeted.

Officers were called to East Evans Avenue and South Fairplay Street at 8:20 a.m., after the boy was found on his own.

Police said they thought he was 2 or 3 years old and said he couldn’t tell them who is or where he lives.

At about 11:45 a.m., police said the boys parents had been found.

“APD is looking into whether child neglect charges are appropriate,” officials tweeted.

A few years ago, en route northbound to Vitalant Blood Center, I spotted a 2?-year-old in the South Buckley Road median grassouth of E. Orchard Avenue.
Southbound cars had passed him without stopping. (Drivers probably thoughthathey missed seeing his parent.)

Immediately I stopped nexto the median, turned on four-way-flashers, and wento the child.
Just as I was calling Arapahoe County Sheriff (stored in my cell phone) I saw his mother come out of her front door on E Lake Lane, looking absolutely terrified.
Seeing themergencyehicle I was driving, parked, she probably thoughthe worst for a moment.
(For that reason I had noturned the light bar on.)

As little boys and girls are wanto do, he was able topen the door and went out, exploring.
Mother took him straight home, almost in tears.
