DENVER (CBS4)– Last week nearly 23,000 Coloradans filed for unemployment benefits. That is about 4,000 more than the week before.

Since the coronavirus pandemic began in March, the state has paid out $4.7 billion in unemployment benefits.

Nationally, more than 1 million Americans filed for initial jobless claims last week.
