Pine Gulch Fire Burning Near Grand Junction 47% Contained
GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (CBS4)- The largest wildfire burning in Colorado right now is the Pine Gulch Fire at 135,903 acres. The fire burning north of Grand Junction is 47% contained.
The fire, started by lightning on July 31, is the second-largest wildfire in the state's history but is quickly approaching the total acreage burned in the largest wildfire in Colorado history, the Hayman Fire.
There are more than 900 firefighters on scene.
