DENVER (CBS4) — A group of about 40 people protested outside the Denver Police Department headquarters Saturday night and marched through streets in the area, blocking traffic. Some clashed with officers, set fires and broke windows.

The group was calling for the police department to be abolished.

Chemical agents were deployed to control the crowd and eight people were taken into custody.

Only 8 arrests? 40 “protesters”. Let’s call it what it is and “do the hard work” as Ms. Harris says although I don’t think that was the kind of hard work she was referring to. Sadly!

  2. “Windows Broken” — this phrase appears in the headlines of all the accounts I’ve seen so far, but no one has bothered to describe which; were windows broken at the Police Administration Building?

    1. WS Boyle says:

Does it really matter which windows were broken. Riotous vandalism is still against the law and when the windows are repair it will be us the citizens of Denver who will pay the bill either through taxes, higher insurance rates or higher prices for goods if they were retail store windows. But rest assured that the guilty domestic terrorists will not pay with a police record to deal with, jail time, or restitution for damages and fines.

  3. WS Boyle says:

Not clear what charges? Probably none and they won’t even have to clean up the mess they cased or pay for the damages. WAKE UP DENVER!!! Destruction of property ie. breaking windows is a crime that should be punished but your DA and police Department are a bunce of cowards afraid of the domestic terrorists instead of protecting city property and citizens which they are paid to do. No not time to defund the police but time to fire the officers you have and hire ones who will do the job correctly.

    1. FDP says:

Probably leadership more than officers at fault here. That’s what we get for voting in so many ‘progressives’ that appear to be condoning this sort of behavior.

And SHAME ON YOU CBS! These are not PROTESTORS – they are RIOTERS once they start fires and vandalism! Have some integrity – journalists are making lawyers and prostitutes look like upstanding paragons of virtue with coverage like that.
