SUMMIT COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) – In Summit County two snowboarders are facing criminal charges after triggering this avalanche last March. The Colorado Avalanche Information Center shared pictures of the slide.
The avalanche buried hundreds of feet of roadway above the west portal of the Eisenhower Tunnel. It covered what’s known as the Loop Road in 20 feet of debris.
Fortunately, no one was caught in the slide but the two men were cited for reckless endangerment.
