National Guard Gives Highest Civilian Award To Amanda Hettinger For Helping Set Up Coronavirus Testing Sites

(CBS) -- The Colorado National Guard has given its highest civilian award to a state employee -- Amanda Hettinger received the state Meritorious Service Medal.

Since March, she's helped the National Guard set up 33 coronavirus testing sites across the state, most of them at nursing homes which had seen deadly outbreaks.

The National Guard has tested more than 5,000 people at these sites since March.
