ALAMOSA, Colo. (CBS4)– The Dumb Friends League kicked off construction of a new animal shelter in south-central Colorado on Friday. The new San Luis Valley Animal Center will serve Alamosa County.
Once complete, the Dumb Friends League San Luis Valley Animal Center is expected to care for 2,500 pets yearly. That includes lost, stray and abandoned pets.
Future plans for the new shelter include low cost spay and neuter services, behavioral support and subsidized vet care.
