Steamboat Springs Shuts Down 'Bear Buffet' With Bear-Proof Trash Cans
STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, Colo. (CBS4)- Steamboat Springs is shutting down its "bear buffet" in the words of the city manager.
The Steamboat Springs City Council passed an ordinance that requires people to keep their trash in bear-resistant containers.
The program will be phased in over the next three years. The city hopes it will cut down on bears roaming neighborhoods in search of food.
