FBI Arrests Bradley Bunn After 4 Pipe Bombs Found Inside Loveland Home
LOVELAND, Colo. (CBS4)- The FBI arrested Bradley Bunn at his home in Loveland after federal investigators found pipe bombs inside. Bunn, 53, is facing charges of possession of illegal destructive devices.
It was early Friday morning when federal agents and local police made their presence known at the corner of Chestnut Drive and Gabriel Drive in Loveland. Judy Daulton, a neighbor, heard what happened next.
"It was a big loud boom at 7 a.m. A real loud boom and I went out and all of a sudden there were three to four police cars out here," she said.
Inside the house was Bradley Bunn. FBI special agents teamed up with local law enforcement officers to execute two search warrants at the home. During that search, agents discovered four pipe bombs, along with gunpowder.
The bombs and gunpowder were taken to a range where they were detonated.
"He was pretty reclusive," neighbor Jeff Myers told CBS4. "He doesn't really come out in the neighborhood very much. I think he is a former military man."
Bunn's oldest daughter told CBS4 investigator Rick Sallinger that her father served in Iraq in 2003 and had explained to her that he was in a convoy that hit an improvised explosive device. She asked that her name not be used. She added he hadn't been the same since then.
The daughter said Bunn was unhappy about the lack of testing and treatment he received from the military and he was upset about the circumstances in which he left the army. Information about Bunn's treatment and military status could not be immediately confirmed.
On Bunn's Facebook page there is a seal that reads, "When tyranny becomes law, rebellion becomes duty." In a post, Bunn also stated he might not live much longer.
A source familiar with the investigation told CBS4 that Bunn had indicated he planned to go to last Friday's "reopen now" rally at the Capitol with a firearm and possibly cause trouble. The raid and arrest at Bunn's home came several hours before that rally was to begin.

"That's scary, that's really scary, he isn't very friendly," said Daulton.
Bunn was advised that he faces weapons charges when he appeared in federal court Monday. If convicted, he faces up to 10 years in federal prison and a $250,000 fine. It was revealed during the hearing that he has been on the drug Adderall for decades.
Bunn's daughter said to CBS4 that she is grateful that her father was taken into custody before anybody could get hurt.
