Wind Contributes To Avalanche Near Vail Chutes
PITKIN COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) - The Colorado Avalanche Information Center shared video of an avalanche in the backcountry near Vail. Experts say it happened on Saturday near the Vail Chutes.
They say wind caused snow to pile up on the northeast-facing slope. Thick slabs of snow then collapsed.
There are no reports of injuries.
