LAKEWOOD, Colo. (CBS4) – Colorado Parks and Wildlife officers released a young bald eagle at Bear Creek Lake Park in Lakewood on Wednesday. The eagle was found starving with a head injury on a sidewalk in Denver last fall.

Officers say it was long road to recovery, but the eagle was a fighter throughout the rehabilitation.

The officers said they enjoyed seeing the eagle soar away after a successful rehab.
