2.7 Magnitude Earthquake Rattles Eagle County

EAGLE COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) -- A 2.7 magnitude earthquake hit near Gypsum, in Eagle County, at about 7:30 a.m. MT, the U.S. Geological Survey confirmed. Gypsum is about 37 miles west of Vail.

The quake struck at a depth of about 3 miles.

"Hundreds of people report feeling the shaking - the local community Facebook pages lit up with comments about it," CBS4 Mountain Bureau Reporter Matt Kroschel said.

There are no reports of any injuries or damage.
