Missing Aurora Girl Found Safe More Than 2 Miles From Home
AURORA, Colo. (CBS4) - The missing girl in Aurora has been found and is safe.
Federal authorities had joined the search for a missing 10-year-old girl who disappeared after leaving her Aurora home on Monday morning. The Colorado Bureau of Investigation sent out a Missing Endangered Alert late Monday night for Daniela Ruano-Morales.
She was found just minutes after a news conference at noon Tuesday.
Police said that Daniela was found in the Hoffman Heights neighborhood near East 6th Avenue and North Peoria Street, a little more than two miles from her home.
Police said she was found in the area by a distant relative.
Investigators are still trying to figure out how she ended up in that neighborhood so far from home.
