DENVER (CBS4) – A deadly rollover crash shut down the northbound lanes of Interstate 25 in downtown Denver during the early part of the morning commute Thursday.

The crash shut down northbound I-25 between Speer and 20th Street at about 5 a.m.

Three cars were involved in the crash and one person was killed.

The backups stretched for miles and impacted traffic on other highways in the metro area.

The lanes reopened at about 7 a.m.

Police are still investigating what caused the crash.
