Teen Dies Following Fall From Cliff

NEW CASTLE, Colo. (AP) — A 17-year-old boy died after falling from a cliff near Meadow Lake in Colorado.

The Glenwood Springs Post Independent reports the Garfield County coroner on Monday evening identified the teenager as Zachary Collett.

The teen was reportedly with his girlfriend and another male on a four-wheel-drive road Sunday where they had been camping. Collett fell about 150 feet (46 meters) from a slope and a cliff.

According to a report from the coroner, the 17-year-old fell while trying to push a log off a slope.

Emergency responders received reports the boy could not be reached by his friends and that he was not moving.

An autopsy Monday determined the cause of Collett's death to be multiple blunt force injuries and the manner to be an accident.
