GOLDEN, Colo. (CBS4)– A Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputy was struck while responding to a crash on Friday afternoon.

The deputy was responding to a crash when he was involved in an accident on Highway 93 where it intersects with Highway 6.

Highway 93 was closed during the crash investigation and cleanup. The highway reopened at 4:45 p.m.

The deputy is expected to be okay after he was rushed to the hospital.
