Boys & Girls Club Members Tour iHeart Radio Studios

By Libby Smith

DENVER (CBS4) - One of the benefits of being a Boys & Girls Club member is you get some extraordinary opportunities. Recently a group of Boys & Girls Club kids got a tour of the iHeart Radio Studios.

There is no better place for a dance party to break out than the studio of 97.5 The Party. That's exactly what happened when a half dozen Boys & Girls Club members visited the studio on a tour of the iHeart Radio studios. The members asked to hear their favorite song, called "Broccoli," and the DJ obliged.

"Used to be a vegetable, now it's a song… that's how it goes," he joked with the kids.

The tour of the various radio stations is just one of the many fun experiences available to Boys & Girls Club members.

"It's exciting because you get to see something new, and it's sort of different because I've never seen this before," said Geraldine, one of the children on the tour.

They found out how the music is played out on KBCO, and even lent their voices to a Christmas promo for the station. While they thought the tour was very exciting, the club members were quick to extol the virtues of their club.

"We have a technology room and an art room, gym, game room," several children enumerated.

"It's fun because it keeps kids occupied," another club member said.

You can help support the children at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver by making a donation to the CBS4 Care 4 Colorado Toy Drive. Just drop a new, unwrapped toy into the donation bins set up at participating King Soopers stores, or drop off a donation at the iHeart Radio Studios at 4695 South Monaco Street, or the CBS4 studio at 1044 Lincoln Street.
