Siemian Misses Practice Again

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (The Sports Xchange) - Denver Broncos quarterback Trevor Siemian was absent from Thursday's practice, raising concerns about his availability for this weekend's road game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Rookie Paxton Lynch would draw his second start of the season in place of the 24-year-old Siemian, who sustained a sprained left foot in the first possession of overtime in Sunday's 30-27 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.

Siemian threw for a career-high 368 yards and three touchdowns against the Chiefs. Despite the injury, he stayed in the game and directed the Broncos to the Kansas City 44 on their next series, from which point Brandon McManus missed a 62-yard field-goal attempt that gave the Chiefs the football in Denver territory.

Siemian was seen in a walking boot earlier in the week, although coach Gary Kubiak deemed the second-year quarterback as "day-to-day" on Wednesday.

A first-round pick in April, Lynch went 23 of 35 for 223 yards with one touchdown and one interception in his previous start versus Atlanta in October. Lynch drew that Week 5 start after Siemian injured his non-throwing shoulder against Tampa Bay.
