Black Friday Has Some Holiday Shoppers Tuckered Out

DENVER (CBS4) - The line was around the building at Cabela's in Lone Tree before daybreak on Friday.

"We have giveaways for the first 600 people -- whether it's gift cards to firearms to smokers, optics -- just to try to make it worth it to be outside and to brave the cold weather," store manager Chris Fletcher said.

Shoppers were armed with coffee and ready to wrestle the bargains away from the store shelves when the doors opened at 5 a.m.

Nearly 1,000 people marched in the store when the doors opened.

But only two hours after the Black Friday shopping was underway, some folks were already tuckered out.

Fletcher said smoker grills are a hot item this holiday shopping season, and they have Black Friday deals on firearms.

In Castle Rock on Thursday some shoppers lined up in the early evening in anticipation of the opening of the outlet stores at 8 p.m. Many of those stores at Outlets at Castle Rock stayed open late.
