Investigation Underway After Man's Body Found In Arkansas River

OTERO COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) - Authorities are investigating after a body was found in the Arkansas River in Otero County on Sunday.

According to the Otero County Sheriff's Office, a citizen called 911 about discovering a deceased male in the river near La Junta at Colorado state highways 109 and 50.

"The OCSO requested the assistance of the Colorado Bureau of Investigation to assist with the investigation and the Otero County Coroner's Office," the sheriff's office said in a statement.

The man's identity hasn't been released.
