Young Woman Sentenced For Role In Destructive Cold Springs Fire

BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4) - A woman will spend nine months on probation and do 36 hours of community service for her role in sparking the Cold Springs Fire near Nederland in Boulder County.

Elizabeth Burdeshaw, 21, pleaded guilty to misdemeanor trespassing. She was camping with Jimmy Andrew Suggs, 28, and Zackary Ryan Kuykendall, 26, near Nederland when it happened.

Investigators say the two men visiting from Alabama didn't do enough to put out their campfire. The flames spread to more than 500 acres and destroyed eight homes.

Suggs and Kuykendall will be in court on Friday.
