PITKIN COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4)– A rock slide closed McClure Pass on Wednesday that could keep the highway between Pitkin County and Gunnison Counties closed until Thursday.

Colorado Highway 133 was closed in both directions at mile marker 29.5 because of the rock slide. Some of the boulders were larger than semi trucks.

Traffic was being diverted at the Collbran turn-off, approximate mile point 36, and Kebler Pass, mile point 24.

CDOT crews worked with a geohazards contractor to begin the process of downsizing the boulders to clear the highway.
