Brush Fire Burns 300+ Acres East Of Metro Area

DEER TRAIL, Colo. (CBS4)- A brush fire burned near Deer Trail east of the Denver metro area on Monday. The fire was threatening structures and a pre-evacuation order was ordered for one subdivision.

Copter4 flew over the Bradberry fire which sent up plumes of white smoke over Elbert County. The pre-evacuation orders were issued just before 1 p.m. for the Chaparral Subdivision. One structure was threatened.

The fire had burned more than 300 acres as of 1 p.m. Monday. It was 90 percent contained just before 2 p.m.

Farm trucks were fighting the fire along with fire crews from Elizabeth.
