Trump Faces Mixed Support Among Colorado Women
DENVER (CBS4) Groups of Colorado moms and Hillary Clinton supporters met up across the state to rally against Republican Presidential nominee Donald Trump.
"It is hard to hold back my rage hearing words like this from a man about women in our country," said Robin Kneich, Denver City Council member.
These women said Trumps comments toward women, which were caught on tape in 2005, send the wrong message to children.
"It's important for our sons to grow up knowing how to respect women, knowing how to act appropriately, and sharing power. And that is something Donald Trump is incapable of doing," Kneich told CBS4.
Trump supporter and volunteer Michelle Hilger said the scandal shouldn't matter.
"Men have locker room talk, women talk just as bad," Hilger said. "His skeletons are out of the closet, and we can't say the same thing about the other side."
Colorado leaders are among those calling for Trump to reconsider his run for President.
"Donald Trump lacks the simple decency to be president," tweeted Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper, a democrat.
Republican Senator Cory Gardner asked Trump to "step aside."
Republican Representative Mike Coffman called Trumps comments "deeply offensive and disgusting."
Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani said the lack of Republican support is not unexpected.
"They largely didn't support him in the first place, so it's not so much of a surprise," Giuliani said.
