DENVER (CBS4) – The restaurant where a stabbing occurred on Tuesday afternoon remained closed on Wednesday with the suspect on the run.

Denver police continued to look for a man who walked into Mead Street Station, a popular bar and restaurant in the Highlands neighborhood, and stabbed a customer.

The incident happened about 4:30 p.m. in the busy Lowell Square area near 32nd Avenue and Lowell Boulevard.

“It’s been a crazy 24 hours. It’s hard to believe this happened right here… in this really quiet, peaceful spot,” said neighbor Christian Sederberg.

The victim remained in the hospital on Wednesday.
