Summit Section Of Mount Evans Highway Will Close Tuesday
DENVER (AP) — The top section of the highway to the summit of Mount Evans is closing for the season after the Labor Day weekend.
The Colorado Department of Transportation said Friday the 5-mile stretch from Summit Lake to the 14,264-foot peak will be shut down on Tuesday.
The lower segment will stay open until early October if the weather permits.
The highway usually reopens for the summer season on the Friday before Memorial Day.
