NFL Hosts Fan Festival In Civic Center Park Next Month
DENVER (CBS4) - The Denver Broncos will take on their Super Bowl 50 opponents in a rematch for the first regular game of the season on Sept. 8.
And there will also be a two-day fan festival to celebrate the Broncos Super Bowl victory and help kickoff their regular season.
Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers will come to Sports Authority Field at Mile High to face the Broncos and the defense led by Von Miller.
Fans can celebrate at the NFL's Kickoff Village at Civic Center Park which includes free fan activities and a free concert.
"Hopefully thousands of fans out here," said Matt Shapiro, NFL Director of Events.
Dierks Bentley and One Republic will perform live at Civic Center Park before the game begins, about 5:30 p.m. Sept. 8.
"A tremendous amount of planning goes into it. Thankfully we have experience with largescale events and we're working really closely with the city and feel really good about our plans."
The game marks the first Super Bowl rematch played to kickoff the season since 1970 with Kansas City and Minnesota.
