Man Survives After Allegedly Shot By Wife

CENTENNIAL, Colo. (CBS4) - A wife is dead and her husband wounded in what authorities believe was a murder suicide attempt Tuesday morning in Centennial.

Deputies with the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office rushed to a residence at 20900 E. Euclid Drive about 11:30 a.m. after a 911 call from a woman who told dispatchers she had just shot her husband and he was dead.

Minutes later, a 911 call was received from the husband, who was alive.

"while deputies were responding to the house we heard from apparently the husband inside the home who stated he had been shot by his wife," said Julie Brooks from the sheriff's office.

When deputies arrived, they found the man with a gunshot wound and the woman deceased. Investigators believe the woman's gunshot wound was self-inflicted.

Authorities said the man was conscious and talking when he was taken to the hospital. Neighbors described the couple as good people.

"It's a real shock because you never think anything like this would happen in your neighborhood," said Linda Carrera.

"It's very sad, it really is ... I hope that he will pull through and be okay," said another.
