Wildfire On South Table Mountain Quickly Put Out

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) - Firefighters responded to a wildfire that burned on South Table Mountain in Jefferson County that prompted a Level 1 evacuation notice to nearby residents Tuesday night.

Residents south of 20th Avenue and north of Denver West Parkway were warned to prepare to evacuate before crews were able to put the fire out around 8:30 p.m.

The fire broke out after a storm moved through the area. According to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, the fire was caused by a lightning strike.

The fire was estimated to burn approximately 29 acres.

No structures burned and nobody was injured.
