Trump Talks About VA Hospital During Colorado Springs Campaign Stop

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (CBS4)- Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump made a campaign stop in Colorado Springs on Friday afternoon.

Trump spoke to thousands of supporters at the University of Colorado- Colorado Springs campus. He blamed the fire marshal for keeping out thousands of supporters due to the fire code and promised to visit them after his main speech.

The fact that Trump appeared in Colorado the day after Hillary Clinton accepted the Democratic nomination for president was not lost on supporters.

"I just want to tell you, I'm going to be in Colorado a lot because there's no way we shouldn't win this state. These are great people, heavy military, tremendous respect for the police and law and order," said Trump.

Trump also spoke about the still unfinished VA Hospital in Aurora. He said he couldn't believe the hospital was behind schedule and over budget. He also said that if he was in charge of the hospital, it would have been finished in less than a year.

Trump is set to speak at the Wings Over the Rockies Museum at 7 p.m. in Denver.
