Denver County Fair Goes To The Cats

DENVER (CBS4)- The Denver County Fair is celebrating its fifth anniversary when it takes over the National Western Complex the final weekend of July.

Once again, a favorite draw is expected to be the Kitten Pavilion. This year the pavilion is hosting two famous cats.

Venus the Two-Face Cat. Venus has more than a million fans on Facebook. The striking cat has a half-black, half-orange tabby face.

On Facebook, Venus posted this message: Hey Denver, Colorado!!!
Guess what! It's my birth month and since I don't know which day my actual birthday is, I decided to celebrate it at the end of the month at the @denvercountyfair!
I'll be indoors at the kitten Pavilion where there will be lots of adoptable cats & kittens that need homes.. I also decided to do my 1st meet & greet there and am donating 100% of the ticket sales to non-profit no kill rescues @goodkarmapetrescue and @catcaresociety. I haven't traveled anywhere since 2014 so I decided to use my lucky #7 birthday as a way to give gifts rather than receiving them!
Hope to see you there!

Joining Venus will be Colorado's most famous cat, Floyd the Lion. Floyd's Instagram page describes a Persian cat with a lion heart. Floyd has almost 40,000 followers on Instagram.

Floyd is also donating all of his ticket sales to non-kill shelters, Denver Cat Care Society and the Longmont Humane Society.

The Kitten Pavilion will also host a number of other cats including adoptees who need forever homes.

New to the fair this year, the Minions will make an appearance and Trekkies will be taking over the Geek Pavilion to celebrate Star Trek's 50th anniversary.
