The fire may have been sparked by a fallen power pole. The house, located at Corona Street and East 89th Avenue, is not a total loss.

"We heard a loud pop in the back of the yard, and when I went to investigate in the backyard I seen that there was a power line was down that was catching a tree on fire," Michael Combs told CBS4.

Combs, who lives next door, ran to the scene to see if anyone was in danger.

"I was mainly concerned for a lot of folks," he said.

No one was injured.

Police were working to get a search warrant to determine the legality of the grow operation.

"We have contacted the homeowner -- it's a rental home. We have not contacted the leaser," said one police spokesman.

Neighbors say they frequently saw activity late at night at the home but didn't suspect the home was being used as a grow house.
