DENVER (CBS4) – Cyclists from the Denver Rescue Mission crossed the finish line Sunday after biking hundreds of miles all for a good cause.
Their adventure took them 750 miles through the Rockies to raise money for the homeless in Colorado.
Friends and family welcomed riders home at the Lawrence Street shelter.
“There are some hard times on a bike, but it’s nothing like what these folks go through. So we get done with a day and be able to check into a hotel and get a chance to rest up, and that’s what the Denver Rescue Mission is — it’s a refuge for the homeless, for those that are hungry, the hurting,” said Dave Schunk, Denver Rescue Mission CFO.
Their ride raised more than $100,000 which will provide approximately 53,000.
