Reports Of Threatening Man End With Officer-Involved Shooting

DENVER (CBS) - A portion of downtown Denver was closed Sunday night after an officer-involved shooting.

Police responded to 20th Street and Arapahoe Street at 10 p.m. on a report of a suspect making threats. When officers arrived on scene, the suspect allegedly pointed a weapon at them from a third floor balcony.

Officers then fired at the man and hit him in the arm. The injury was non-life threatening and the suspect was taken to the hospital.

No officers were injured in the incident. Arapahoe Street was temporarily closed from 19th Street to 21st Street while the investigation was ongoing.

Police announced Monday morning that the suspect had a sawed-off BB gun, which they originally thought was a real shotgun. The suspect has not been identified.
