Officer Injured Trying To Make Arrest During Traffic Stop

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (CBS4) – A woman is in custody after fleeing from police during a traffic stop Saturday afternoon.

According to police in Englewood, a police officer pulled a woman over and learned she had several outstanding felony warrants. When the officer approached the car to take the driver into custody the driver fled in her vehicle somehow injuring the officer.

The officer was heard over the radio saying the woman almost ran her over. She suffered minor injuries.

The officer then got back in her cruiser and followed the suspect to a home on West Cornell Avenue where the suspect went inside. Additional officers were called to the scene and the woman was arrested.

The suspect's name hasn't been released.
