Man Pleads Guilty In Crash That Killed 18-Year-Old CU Student

DENVER (AP) - A 37-year-old man has pleaded guilty in a DUI crash last year that caused the death of a University of Colorado student.

Justin Scott Goshorn entered guilty pleas Monday to several charges related to the November crash, including vehicular homicide while driving under the influence and reckless driving.

Goshorn had been traveling in the southbound lanes on Highway 93 at speeds of up to 100 mph when he crossed the center line and struck a northbound vehicle carrying four students.

Eighteen-year-old Sam Shelton suffered traumatic injuries and died from them in January. Another student also sustained serious injuries in the crash.

Goshorn's blood alcohol content had been over twice the legal limit.

He faces 10 to 32 years in prison when he's sentenced in July.
