AURORA, Colo. (CBS4) – A man was found shot in his vehicle early Monday morning and died soon afterwards in Aurora. Police searched for the gunman.

The shooting was the second shooting incident involving a death in Aurora overnight.

Police rushed to the intersection of East 11th Avenue and Yosemite Street at 2:30 a.m. after a report of shots being fired came in from the nearby Las Cabanas Bar.

A man was found in a truck with gunshot wounds. He was rushed to the hospital where he died.

Police believe the man was shot while leaving the adjacent parking lot and then drove into a van and part of the fence.

Many neighbors heard the gunshots.

“Just woken up out of our sleep by gunfire, ‘Boom, boom, boom, boom!’ It was loud. Scary… especially since there are so many kids in this neighborhood,” said witness Gina Ortega.

The identity of the victim has not been released.
