Man In Colorado High Security Penitentiary Claims To Be Prince's Son

FLORENCE, Colo. (CBS4) - A man incarcerated in Colorado has filed a paternity claim against Prince's estate.

Carlin Q. Williams, 39, is currently being held at the United States Penitentiary, Administrative Maximum Facility in Florence, Colorado.

The Kansas City, Missouri man claims he is the son of pop icon Prince, whose April 21 death lacked a will and sparked family disagreement over the estate.

As CBS News reports, court documents filed Monday show Williams' mother, Marsha Henson, gave a statement saying she had unprotected sex with Prince in July 1976 in Kansas City, and thereby conceived Williams.

On Friday, genetic testing was authorized, allowing DNA testing with a sample of Prince's blood in order to settle any potential claims of paternity.

Williams is requesting a DNA test and petitioning to be recognized as Prince's "sole surviving legal heir."

Last week, Prince's sister and four of his five half-siblings appeared in court to begin sorting out his multimillion-dollar estate.
