DENVER (CBS4) – The man found inside a burning apartment earlier this month was shot.

According to the Denver Office of the Medical Examiner, Shane Richardson was killed by a gunshot wound.

Crews found Richardson, 29, after putting out the fire early May 2 in an apartment unit above Rosenberg’s Bagels and Delicatessen at Welton Street and 26th Avenue.

The cause of the fire has not been released or is unknown at this time.

Police were looking for two missing vehicles that belonged to Richardson, including a 1997 Subaru Impreza with Colorado license plate 859-ZID. The below picture is the wanted vehicle.

Investigators have recovered a 2012 Ducati Motorcycle with Colorado license plate QTO-128. The below picture is similar to the motorcycle that was recovered.

The building has been known as the Historic Arcade Building and it sustained some smoke and water damage from the fire. Rosenberg’s is temporarily closed as a result.
