Frustration: Security Wait Times At DIA Reach Upwards Of 2 Hours On Saturday

DENVER (CBS4) - Wait times are back to normal at Denver International Airport after some passengers reported waiting as long as two hours to get through security on Saturday.

The airport tweeted a message urging passengers to give themselves plenty of time before their flight. There were also tweets from frustrated travelers who missed their flights.

Lines backed up all the way around the baggage claim.

DIA told CBS4 the Transportation Security Administration didn't staff enough workers and there was nothing they could legally do to help the lines move any faster.

CBS4 viewer Josh Brosz made light of the situation, tweeting that he was going to try to get the "the wave" going with all the people in line.

The airport had a similar security debacle over the holidays. At that time some passengers waited in line for three hours and missed their flights. The TSA took the blame, admitting it was understaffed.

CBS4 reached out but has not heard back from the TSA about Saturday's delays.
