No Refunds For Postponed 4/20 Rally

DENVER (CBS4)- No refunds will be given for the 4/20 rally originally scheduled for April 16 and 17. Event organizers say the rally will likely be rescheduled for later this summer.

Organizers say the storm forced them to postpone the weekend event. On Sunday, crews packed up the gear placed in Civic Center Park on Friday.

The rally has a history of taking place on April 20 but in years since marijuana was legalized in Colorado, the event has evolved into a much bigger festival with live music and vendors.

Organizer Miguel Lopez said the event will take some time to reschedule. Ticket holders and vendors will get credit for the future event.

"No one is happy with the situation. You can't just pick up the phone and call somebody and say, 'Can I bring my party to your house?' There are a lot of things that take place," said Lopez.

Lopez believes the rally will happen during the months with warmer weather.

"We're friends with the mayor. Who knows? Mile High Stadium, Red Rocks, you name it, sky's the limit," said Lopez.

There is no official statement on whether the traditional smoke out on April 20 will take place.
