MONTE VISTA, Colo. (CBS4) – A man in Monte Vista was killed Saturday morning when a large tree branch fell on him.

Valley Publishing reports that James Aldridge, 70, was clearing snow around his house with an ATV at approximately 10:30 a.m. when the branch fell.

Firefighters working down the street to free a truck stuck in the snow responded to the scene. They freed Aldridge, who was reportedly unconscious and not breathing.

He was given First Aid and taken to the hospital, where he later died.
