LinkedIn Study Finds Half Of Workers Unhappy With Their Jobs

DENVER (CBS4) - According to a new study from LinkedIn and Mars Drinks, the beverage sector of larger food company Mars Inc., roughly half of U.S. workers would not recommend their current employer to a job-seeking peer.

LinkedIn surveyed 1,015 users from large companies in the financial services, legal, healthcare, social work, consulting, and utilities sectors. They were asked to rank their companies using an eNPS, or employee net promoter score, on a scale of 0-10 how likely it is you would recommend your company as a place to work.

Just 49% of those surveyed ranked their company highly. Nineteen percent scored their workplace negatively and the rest were ambivalent.

It shows that hardly half of people at work feel their employers are doing a good job at fostering collaboration, engagement, well-being, and productivity. It's a combination Mars Drinks calls Workplace Vitality.

Respondents to the study said they felt more engaged with their company when they believed their jobs provided continual learning, they could make a positive impact, their work is important, and the job is challenging.
