Broncos Say Wolfe Bar Fight Video Being Addressed Internally
DENVER (The Sports Xchange) - Defensive lineman Derek Wolfe of the Denver Broncos met with team decision-makers to discuss a video that appears to show the high-paid interior lineman punching a Denver nightclub patron.
Broncos spokesman Patrick Smyth said the matter was discussed and handled internally. The incident allegedly occurred over the weekend.
TMZ released the video that shows a man identified as Wolfe in a verbal altercation involving several others. When matters escalate, Wolfe throws a wild right-handed punch. Per TMZ, Wolfe left the club bloodied when he was smacked with a bottle.
"Derek talked to us on Monday," Smyth said in a statement, "and it's been addressed internally."
The Broncos begin voluntary workouts on April 18.
Wolfe, 26, was a second-round pick in 2012 and signed a four-year, $36.7 million contract extension in January. He was suspended the first four games of the 2015 season.
